CardSprint specialises in card personalisation. We can add individual barcodes, numbers or names, encode magnetic stripes and smart chips, and even mail out the card direct to the card holder with an accompanying letter. Or if you prefer to take more control over your card issuance, we can set you up with a suitable plastic card printer.
Card Only
CardSprint can personalise your customer or member cards, including a number, barcode, name and/or encoded magnetic stripe. We can apply the personalisation to the entire batch of cards after manufacture, or on an ongoing basis when new customers or members join your program, ie. Daily, weekly, monthly on receipt of a data file from you.
Alternatively, we can personalise your initial batch of cards and provide you with a desktop plastic card printer to manage your ongoing card personalisation if you prefer to issue the cards on the spot.
Personalised cards have a greater perceived value by the cardholder.
CardSprint will even take care of attaching your cards to a card carrier (eg Gift Card Hangers) for you if required.
Numbering
Personalising a card gives it a greater perceived value. Including a customer or member number on a card is a great way to easily identify the cardholder. If you have a POS system, including a barcode, chip and/or magnetic stripe on the card will mean that you do not need to manually enter the number into your system to recall the cardholders records – you can simply scan or swipe the card which acts as the tool to retrieve the customer or member records.
If we are numbering your card, it will not cost you any more to have the customer or member name printed on the card at the same time if you have this information in your database (assuming it is printed on the same side of the card as the number). Cards with names on them have a greater perceived value to the cardholder – it makes them feel like they are more than just a number!
Barcoding
Personalising a card gives it a greater perceived value. CardSprint can produce barcodes to any symbology. Including a barcode on the card will mean that you do not need to manually enter the number into your system to recall the cardholders records – you can simply scan or swipe the card which acts as the tool to retrieve the customer or member records.
We recommend having the barcode number printed on the card too, (usually underneath the barcode but it can be anywhere on the card), to ensure you can access this information in the case of system failure.

Magnetic Stripe Encoding
Personalising a card gives it a greater perceived value. CardSprint can add a magnetic stripe to your card during the manufacture process, and encode the magnetic stripe during the personalisation process. CardSprint can add either a 2-track or 3-track magnetic stripe to your card. The magnetic stripe tape is available in various coercivities (relates to the strength of magnetic field), but the most common are 2750oe Hi-Coercivity (Hi-Co) or 300oe Low Coercivity (Lo-Co). We can encode all 3 tracks of the magnetic stripe or just the required tracks (track 1 = alpha numeric, track 2 & track 3 = numeric only). Including a magnetic stripe on the card will mean that you do not need to manually enter the number into your system to recall the cardholders records – you can simply swipe the card which acts as the tool to retrieve the customer or member records. We recommend having the data that is encoded into the magnetic stripe printed on the card as well, to ensure you can access this information in the case of system failure.

Smart Card Encoding
CardSprint can encode contact or contactless Smart Cards to your requirements. There are many different chips available, and many variables within the chip itself (eg sector, blocks within each sector), so please contact us to see how we can help.
Hole Punching
CardSprint can punch a round or slot hole in your cards at the time of manufacture if they are to be attached to a lanyard, wrist cord or strap/clip. This process is very common for Photo ID Cards and Event Cards.
Card and Carrier
CardSprint can take care of the entire card and letter personalisation, including mailing of your card packs to the end user. This includes personalisation of the card with names, barcodes, magnetic stripe encoding etc, laser printing of the letter to be mailed to the customer with the card, (including the customer name and address details), matching and attaching of the card to the letter, folding and inserting into an envelope with additional inserts if required, sealing and lodging with Australia Post.
We can perform these tasks in bulk for the initial order, and on an ongoing basis as required on receipt of a data file from you (eg. daily, weekly, monthly).
CardSprint can even supply the printed letterhead and inserts if preferred. Why not leave everything to us?

Card Printing Software
You don’t need any specific software to print to Entrust card printers; any Windows based program will be suitable, providing the page size is set-up correctly. Adding individual barcodes to your cards, or photo ID card projects can be tricky, so we recommend specific software to help manage this. We use several programs depending on complexity of the project, so please let us know what you need and we’ll advise the best software to suit your requirements.
